Third Year Science Ecology Field Trip

Last week, the third Year Science class ventured out in their wellingtons for their ecology field trip.

The students investigated the living factors of a grassland habitat by identifying the various organisms present. Some students were excited to use equipment such as the pooter to collect and identify insects, while others were somewhat hesitant to get too up close and personal with the little creatures. At the end of the field trip, the students looked forward to inspecting the pitfall trap to see what insects had been captured. The trap had been set up by students at the beginning of the excursion. All students worked very well as part of their group, applying their experimental skills to collect results for the investigation. The trip was a great success and enjoyed by all
