First Years Visit Hometree Charity

On Tuesday November 2nd our first years were privileged to be the 1st ever school group to visit Hometree Charity in Ennistymon.

Hometree’s work is to establish and conserve permanent native woodland in Ireland, encouraging land regeneration and biodiversity through afforestation, restoration and education. They are also working with local farmers with their recently funded EIP. We were lucky to visit on an important day for Global citizenship as the COP meetings took place. The 1st years learned all about the history of Ireland’s native woodlands and during the day were able to do their part by planting a tree each. This experience will help students grow as a group and as individuals. Thanks to Ray, Mitch and Matt of Hometree and Mr. MacMahon for organising the trip.
